The early morning mist rises from the pond nestled in the corner of the dogleg left as I stand on the first tee. All is quiet — the sun has barely broken the horizon and only the birds in the trees to my right are with me. I will soon be visiting them as I search for my ball amongst the trees, but for now I am content to gaze in wonder at the beauty before me and contemplate the round to come…
