November 30, 2009 — It is official. Snow is here. Beautiful, white snow is gently falling as I sit typing this post.
The weather experts assure us that it will melt tomorrow as we’re visited by rain, but that the end of the week will bring the real, winter-long snow that Muskokan’s are used to getting.
It isn’t a time that spontaneously brings golf to mind (except possibly dreams of that winter vacation …) but there are things that can be done for those of us who will more likely be able to see our breath than grass for the next few months.
I’ve got my winter reading list to get ready. I’ve already started one book (Golf for Enlightenment by Deepak Chopra), but I’m looking for some other suggestions.
I’ve also planned some indoor game improvement drills that should help groove a better swing and a better putting stroke for the spring. I am going to experiment with the video camera and share these drills and tips as well.
I’ve even got another installment of the Two Feet at a Time series planned.
If you have any book suggestions or indoor condition tips to share please add them in the comment section or send me an e-mail.
And stay warm!
Hey Big Wolf, I thought I’d drop by to see if you were going to discuss the headlines that are in golf circles right now. I see you are probably going to take the high road which I commend you on. But I must say it is an interesting situation nonetheless.
We also have our first dusting of snow right now. I will have to tell you I didn’t think Deepak had a book on golfing, I love reading some of his books, can be very deep and some of them can take a whole winter just to get through. Hope all is well and happy holidays to you in advance. jj

Hi JJ
I try to leave stuff like Tiger’s situation alone. I respect his privacy and he respects mine 8=) If it was something on the course then I might “chip in” a comment or two.
As for the Deepak, this seems to be a fairly light read. I haven’t read any of his stuff before so it is a bit of a departure for me, but it is interesting so far. I think he is using the game of golf as a metaphor for life as much as he is applying his philosophies to golf. It actually seems to work both ways.
Thanks for dropping in! Enjoy the snow while you can — it will be gone before we know it. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
